The content and organization of the tutorial on psychology of communication in police professional training

Introduction. The necessity of police officers’ communicative competence is unquestionable. Basing on the long time experience in the system of police officers’ professional education the authors suggest the content of the tutorial on psychology of communication including theory and exercises. Мaterials and Methods. The analysis of various learning methodical guidelines and tutorials including those designed for teaching police officers, scientific researches, their own twenty-years’ experience, programme of police officers’ professional training enabled the authors to suggest the content of this programme using the material and exercises. The effectiveness of training was checked through test control and the questionnaire devoted to the learner’s assessment of their own communicative skills before and after the tutorial. Results and Discussion. Basing on the model programme the authors described and structured six lessons of psychological tutorial. The authors find it reasonable to gradually reveal the facets of communication by means of communication training and turn to the peculiarities of police officers’ professional communication via «brainstorm» and practicing professional situations. Conclusions. The psychological tutorial on the programme of police officers’ professional education and training must be structured in the form of training with appropriate topical and theoretical inserts. The effectiveness of psychological tutorial was proved through the results of test control of communicative skills.
