"Combining education with the industrial production...": the experience of the popular science films’ propaganda in the rural areas

The article deals with the specifics of the film propaganda in the context of the cultural policy of the mid-1950s - early-1960s. By considering the main directions and tasks of modernization of Soviet agricultural industry, shows their transformation into active practice of cultural policies implemented in the form of the popular science films’ propaganda in the rural areas of the USSR. The data on the structure of the film propaganda and the film destribution in the Krasnodar region as well as the issues of accessibility of the cinema services to the rural population are presented. An archival document that contains an information on the festival of agricultural films Psebay district of the Krasnodar Territory in 1959 is published first time.
