Evaluation of the possibility of soybean production in the non-chernozem zone of Russia to obtain oil for fuel purposes showed that the average yield of soybean varieties of the northern ecotype over the years of research was 1.94 ...2.62 t/ha with maximum productivity - 2.95..3.12 t/ha. The oil content in the seeds on average in the experiment was 19...21%, while unsaturated fatty acids predominated in its composition (69.71%). Oil-bearing productivity of soybean varieties averaged over the experience was 482 kg/ha, with the maximum - 630 kg/ha. The use of a mixed fuel in the engine did not cause changes in the engine power indicators in comparison with diesel fuel. The use of biofuel instead of petroleum diesel fuel made it possible to reduce the smoke content of exhaust gases by 37...50% and reduce emissions from exhaust gases in the test cycle: for nitrogen oxides - by 19%, for carbon monoxide - by 10.9% and for hydrocarbons - by 9.3%.
