This article examines the problem of transformation of the EU gender strategy. Despite the fact that the primary law of the EU still defines the achievement of gender equality between men and women as the priority goals of gender policy, the new gender approach is moving away from the classical gender postulates about the binary nature of male and female biological sex through the consolidation of narratives about non-binary and transgender nature of a person at the level of language and soft legal norms (SOGI approach). Implemented outside of broad scientific discussion and political consensus, this strategy can cause a transformation of ideas about male and female, lead to a radical change in the heteronormative binary matrix of society and traditional reproductive attitudes.
