Solidarity in the context of regional identity analysis based on the results of a sociological study)

Regional identity is a relevant topic of interdisciplinary and sociological analysis. One of the aspects of the formation of territorial self-identification is solidarity. Foreign and domestic studies have been devoted to the study of these two phenomena, but the changing social reality and the peculiarities of the development of Russian society require constant monitoring of these indicators and the expansion of knowledge in this area. The article presents the results of a sociological study conducted in four neighboring southern regions - Astrakhan and Volgograd regions, the Republics of Kalmykia and Dagestan. The answers of respondents to questions about regional identity and solidarity are analyzed. The dependence between the degree of solidarity of the local population and the level of their regional identity is revealed. The foundations of the solidarity of the regional community are defined as the community of living space, social practices, cultural values and norms, ethnic and confessional identification and rootedness. The conclusions and results presented in the study will be of interest to a wide range of readers, including specialists dealing with issues of state and regional development.
