The situation when a report about a crime is fulfilled in the language which differs from the language of that of criminal proceedings is analyzed in the article. The author defines bases of involvement of an interpreter on a stage of institution of criminal proceedings, observes peculiarities of participation of the interpreter on the mentioned stage.
