Text - discource correlation as a methodological proposition

The article is an attempt to disclose the subject of text-discourse correlation from the methodological viewpoint. The author focuses her attention on the peculiarities of text and discourse functioning in communicative field. Both foreign and Russian linguists' approaches to text-discourse correlation are subjected to an overall analysis.
