Comparing ancient realities with modern ones in classes on -Ancient Languages and Cultures‖ is a methodical technique aimed, on the one hand, to interest students, on the other hand, to teach them to see causal relationships between events of different eras and cultures. The article provides examples of both genetically related phenomena and facts from the field of linguistics, literature, culture and history, and close typologically. It emphasizes the feasibility of the analysis of questions on current topics, the correct answers to which students can give only after reading the comments on the history and culture of Antiquity.
