The state of the agro-industrial complex of Russia and the main trends of its development

The agro-industrial complex is a complex structure that ensures the country’s food security. The central place in the agro-industrial complex belongs to agriculture. Based on the works of Russian scientists and numerous statistical data, the article examines the dynamics and identifies trends in the development of the most important branches of agriculture: crop production and animal husbandry. The dynamics of agricultural production in Russia, crop yields and the dynamics of livestock production, as well as the dynamics of acreage and availability of agricultural machinery are considered. Positive trends in the development of these industries have been identified, and some factors have been shown that made it possible to achieve a positive trend. The positive impact of the growth of industry indicators on Russia’s food security was noted.
