The purpose of the study is to analyze cerebral blood flow in liquidators of the Chernobyl accident (“liquidators”) long after their exposure to radiation.Materials and methods. The study used archive records on “liquidators” who received inpatient care at the Russian Scientific Center of Roentgenoradiology and were diagnosed with dyscirculatory encephalopathy (DEP, stages I-III) or cerebrovascular disease (CVD), as well as perfusion MRI results. We analyzed a total of 105 male patients aged 55 to 87 years (their average age is 68.8±0.9 years). The study group (SG) included 72 liquidators (who have received an average radiation dose of 0.22 Gy); the comparison group (CG) contained 33 patients with CVD who have not been exposed to radiation. All the patients underwent advanced perfusion MRI. The groups were compared by the age they were diagnosed with CVD, the length of the disease, perfusion MRI parameters (CBF, CBV, МТТ), and atrophy and microangiopathy stage.Results. We found cause-and-effect relationships between the chronological age and the age of CVD diagnosis in liquidators (p function show_eabstract() { $('#eabstract1').hide(); $('#eabstract2').show(); $('#eabstract_expand').hide(); }
