State and prospects for innovation system development of Karachay-Cherkess Republic

The article focuses on a topical problem of transition to an innovative model of region's economy development in the context of regional strategy realization of social and economic development. The author establishes basic quality characteristics of regional innovation system, analyses current state of innovation activities in Karachay-Cherkess Republic, reveals objective and subjective reasons of its slowdown. Thus, the author determines the main directions in formation of regional innovation system, as well as in innovation strategy realization of regional development.
