The development of society and culture is a two-way mutually dependent process: society forms culture, and culture ensures that society thrives. Moral ideals, reflected in culture and recognized by all members of society, can strengthen people's cohesion and centripetal processes in society. At the crucial stage of the great revival of the Chinese nation, the citizens of the Celestial Empire need firm confidence in the future, unity of will, as well as cultural guidance and spiritual support. All this can be achieved as a result of the symbiosis of traditional Chinese culture and socialist ideas. However, the digital transformation of society and the increasing influence of Western culture on the value priorities of the citizens of the Celestial Empire have seriously affected the current cultural trends in the country. The article examines current problems of Chinese national culture, analyzes the content of the traditional Celestial Empire citizens' ideas of life, morality, good and evil, their change due to the spread of Western values in China. It also assesses challenges to Chinese national culture, provoked by the intensive digitalization of all spheres of human life.
