The state of water resources protection in the Kyrgyz Republic (1991-2021)

The purpose of the performed research is to study the state of protection and rational use of water resources in the Kyrgyz Republic over the years of independence (1991-2021). The article presents the results of the analysis of the activities of government agencies in the field of conservation and restoration of water bodies. The main problems in the drinking water supply system of the population and sanitation are identified, and the prospects for the development of the water sector in the Kyrgyz Republic are outlined.
