Alcohol intoxication as a circumstance aggravating punishment

The article examines the state of intoxication as one of the types of circumstance aggravating the punishment. The attitude to this circumstance in the normative acts of Ancient Russia, the Russian Empire and the USSR is analyzed. The points of view concerning the inclusion of this circumstance in the general list of aggravating circumstances are given. Medical statistics are presented in defense of position on the need to recognize the state of alcoholic intoxication as an aggravating circumstance, regardless of the circumstance of the case.
