Improving the current or adoption of a new Criminal Procedure Code of the Russian Federation: a scientific perspective on the problem

TIn the article the authors argue that in present-day realities it is advisable to improve the currentCode of Criminal Procedure of the Russian Federation, rather than adopt a new one. The changes made to the law should have a general system that expresses a clear concept of its development, which is currently unavailable. The authors affirm that inadequacy of the law is evident in the fact that in January 2020, 260 federal laws were adopted, making 1316 amendments into the Code, that is much more than for 40 years operation of the Criminal Procedure Code of the Russian Soviet Federative Socialist Republic of 1960.
