Improvement of legal regulation in the sphere of public morality

Introduction. Categories of morality and morals in the society have always been sacral values of human existence. The issues of protection of the values recognized in the society become especially acute nowadays in the time of the developing pandemia of coronavirus and ensure overestimation of the state in providing personal rights when new restricting measures are introduced aiming at removal of threats resulted from it. Materials and Methods. The survey covered a hundred and thirty-six citizens, forty-two officers from various divisions of police protecting public morality. Applying the system method enabled the authors to create a comprehensive vision of improved legal regulation in the sphere of public morality. Results and Discussion. The peculiar feature of this sphere of relations is that it has been formed by the socium during long time with regard to social, cultural, religious traditions and customs. Directive influence of public structures is inadmissible for these relations. However, it does not mean that morality is beyond legal regulation. Conclusions. Interaction between public authorities and civil society is conducted through legal means of bringing up young generation, building citizens’ behaviour according to the requirements which are provided by law and assume the removal of consequences of factors negatively influencing morality.
