In the article, based on published sources and extensive historiography, systematized and analyzed information about the participants of the Soviet delegation at the Brest-Litovsk negotiations that took place from November 1917 to March 1918 is systematized and analyzed. It is noted that the level of education of the Soviet delegates was rather low, only six of them had higher education. None of the delegates had professional diplomatic training and relevant work experience. The delegation was composed of 12 Bolsheviks, 3 Left Socialist-Revolutionaries and 1 nonpartisan, with only 5 people supporting the signing of peace. The average age of the delegation was 36 years. The author makes a conclusion that personal qualities of the members of the Soviet delegation did not allow them to act as a cohesive team at the negotiations in Brest-Litovsk.
