For the first time in Russian historiography, the authors of the article turn to such aspect of early Soviet social reality as the daily life of the cities at the Caucasian Mineral Waters in the 1920s. These years were the period of creation and formation of the Soviet resort area at the Caucasian Mineral Waters. The main attention in the article is paid to the formation of the socio-cultural space of the Soviet resort, taking into account both the initial intentions of the Soviet government and the final result as the decisions taken were implemented. It is for the first time that the problem of research was formulated in such way, which allows us to see the everyday life of the cities of the Caucasian Mineral Waters in various contexts, ranging from the local (the peculiarities of each of the cities) to the all-Union one. The resort area was represented by a variety of cities. Pyatigorsk and Kislovodsk took shape as cities, with Pyatigorsk serving as the administrative center whereas Zheleznovodsk and Yessentuki were strongly influenced by the Cossack village past. The authors concluded that the resort space was designed as a place for Soviet workers to improve their health there. The process of creating a Soviet resort was hampered by the constant change of historical contexts: war communism, the consequences of the Civil War, internal party struggle, NEP and its curtailment. The daily routine of resorts is not only the life of the population permanently residing in resort towns, but also the life of vacationers who came from all over the country, representing various professional and social groups, different political views and political moods.
