Joint universities as an innovative format for the internationalization of higher education (using the example of MSU-BIT in Shenzhen)

The internationalization of higher education at the present stage is characterized not only by the intensification of international cooperation in this field, the quantitative and qualitative expansion of academic mobility, the change in the architecture of the global educational space, but also by the development of innovative formats, such as the joint forms of cooperation. One of these forms is the practice of creating joint universities. This article examines the key trends and consequences of the internationalization of higher education, as well as the practices of the functioning of the first joint Russian-Chinese MSU-BIT project in Shenzhen, analyzes the successful practices of individual departments of the joint university in the formation of academic culture and networking. The article also presents the prospects for the development of MSU-BIT in the medium term.
