The article examines contemporary monumental art within the context of the rich monumental heritage of the 20th century, focusing on evolving traditions, new visual forms, and meanings emerging in the 21st century. It identifies the key features and characteristics of modern monu-mental art, as well as the expressive means of its interaction with the environment and active en-gagement with the viewer. The study explores the potential of monumental art in individualizing architectural spaces and preserving historical memories through the creation of emotionally reso-nant urban monuments. The article analyses the development trends of traditional genres and forms of monumental art in the emergence of new types influenced by innovative technologies. Examples of visual and compositional solutions in contemporary monumental works illustrate new forms of structural and conceptual integration with the architectural environment. The study concludes that monumental art continues to evolve and adapt to modern conditions, serving as a platform to address pressing social issues while retaining its role as the visual and semantic focal point of architectural spaces. The development of monumental art follows two parallel paths: tra-ditional and innovative driven by new materials and technologies. This requires a reevaluation of the definition of monumentality and the criteria for classifying works of monumental art.
