The current state of childhood problems in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia): concerning children's leisure

The study deals with the problem of children's leisure in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). It is reviewed through the parents' opinion. Leisure is characterized as one of the most important fields of human life performing such functions as recreation, physical and mental restoration, entertainment, development, creativity, and self-improvement. The research reveals some aspects of children's leisure, the structure of the joint leisure activities of parents and children as well as the parents' satisfaction with the services provided by cultural institutions for children's leisure activities. It is concluded that the accessibility to cultural values, cultural needs, and further leisure behavior is formed in early childhood through upbringing and family education and is the basis of the future cultural resource of each person. The development of social and cultural infrastructure, type of settlement, family composition, and parents' opinion have the influence on children's leisure.
