Modern aspects of training highly qualified long-and middle-distance runners (based on foreign research)

Relevance. Currently, in Russian high-performance sport there is a gap between the results of scientific research and the needs of athletes and coaches interested in the development and implementation of promising innovations in the training process. In connection with this fact, the state of foreign research in this area is of interest. The purpose of the work is to review modern foreign research in the aspect of building a training process for highly qualified runners specializing in long and middle distances.
