Modern studies of religion in the context of the philosophical problem of integration of knowledge

This paper examines the problem of integration of humanities and natural science in the context of philosophical discussions in the second half of the twentieth century and new disciplinary decisions of this problem on the example of modern research fields in religious studies. The relevance of the topic is in the trends in modern intellectual culture, in general, and in transformations in the science of religion, in particular. The main goal of the study is to analyze the philosophical and scientific context of integrative trends in religious studies at the turn of the century using the problem-analytical method. As the result of this research the author presents conclusions that the philosophical problem of integration of knowledge in modern intellectual culture determines the epistemological perspective of naturalistic, analytical, cognitive and evolutionary approaches to the study of religion, opens up new methodological opportunities for researchers, and also addresses traditional for religious studies questions such as about essence and origin of religion.
