Modern messengers in the educational process of a professional educational organization: strengths and weaknesses

The authors of the article substantiate the thesis that modern instant messengers are not only a way of transmitting messages, but also a necessary means of educational communication. Analyzing the strengths and weaknesses of leading messengers, they discuss the advantages and disadvantages of using messengers in the educational process of a vocational educational organization (VEO). The authors consider the system of interaction between the structural units of the South Ural State College in the Viber messenger, implementing the objectives of the study to improve the educational process in VEO through the use of instant messengers. They provide the results of a survey of college teachers, which allowed identifying the most popular web services and the prevailing forms of communication among teachers with students. A rating of the advantages and disadvantages of using instant messengers in the educational process is presented, as well as the types of research projects, the protection of which was organized using web services.
