The problem of an interdisciplinary approach based on the integration of knowledge for the design of physical culture and wellness programs is actualized due to the fact that, on the one hand, scientific and techno-logical progress causes the emergence of new data about a person. On the other hand, it is because it contributes to a constant increase in the pace of life and the number of external factors affecting the body. One of the ways to solve the problem of optimizing physical culture and wellness classes at university, the authors suggest reorienting programs of various types of physical culture to the maximum possible satisfaction of the interests of students. They also propose to bring the content of motor activity into mandatory compliance with the fundamental laws of improving adaptive capabilities of the body of students, taking into account all influencing factors (natural, man-made, environmental, social). At the same time, the main criteria for optimizing physical activity of a health-improving orientation are dynamic changes in the main physiological indicators reflecting an increase in the level of physical and functional fitness and mechanisms of energy supply for muscular work, as well as maintaining stable motivation of students for physical culture and wellness classes and a healthy lifestyle
