The article examines the influence of individual ego states on the nature of interactions in marital and family relationships. The concept of ego-states in transactional analysis is considered, and its applicability to the analysis of interaction strategies between spouses, parents and children and the choice of the most effective options is analyzed. The relevance of studying the ego states of spouses and other family members in marital and family relationships in the context of transactional analysis is substantiated due to their fundamental role in society and the insufficient exploration of this topic. The transfer of interaction patterns and behavior strategies conditioned by the prevailing ego-states of spouses to their social interactions, both in family relationships and outside the family, including social, professional activities and interpersonal relationships, is considered. In addition, the possibility of identifying the most effective strategies for interaction between spouses is considered, taking into account the choice of the transmitted ego-state or adaptation to the ego-state of the partner through conscious switching. Prospects for further empirical research are outlined and practical recommendations are given.
