Modern ideas of Salus-Gunn’s symptom diagnostic importance at hypertensive disease

The diagnostic importance of a Salus-Gunn’s symptom at patients with a hypertensive disease is defined by modern methods depending on indicators of arterial pressure, expressiveness of the atherosclerotic process and age. Research included 100 patients with hypertensive heart disease. All patients underwent duplex scanning of brachiocephalic arteries, arterial pressure monitoring, defined lipid profile. Arterial pressure was measured before inspection ocular fundus. Revealed that the grade I of Salus-Gunn’s symptom is a labile indicator of arterial pressure in patients with grade II of hypertonic disease, with minor atherosclerotic manifestations. Grades II and III of this symptom are stable and generally caused by atherosclerotic remodeling of arteries ocular fundus.
