Modern Problems of Russia’s Civilizational Development

The focus is on modern issues of Russia’s civilizational development, with the identification of the most significant ones serving as the research objective. This goal entails addressing the following tasks: analyzing the civilizational approach and the specific features of Russia’s development, the vector of which has repeatedly changed; elucidating the concept of “state-civilization”; and defining the fundamental core of Russian civilization. The novelty of the research lies in the appeal to the concept of “neocivilizational approach”, the content of which differs from the essence of the approach proposed by the Annales school. In conclusion, the author identifies five key modern problems of Russia’s civilizational development, the most important of which is the creation of a scientific and methodological basis for the concept of “state-civilization with Russian specifics”, which is already being implemented in Russian practice. It is emphasized that addressing this challenge presupposes strengthening Russia's position in the global community as an independent entity.
