Creation of funds to support scientific research as one of the mechanisms of attracting youth in university science

The role of scientific activity in the system of higher education is considered. The results of competitions of the Belarusian Republican Foundation for Scientific Research, which are directly or indirectly focused on supporting scientific research of young people, are analyzed. To deepen cooperation between young scientists of academic, university and industrial science, it is possible to recommend the creation of a youth competition for grants from the Belarusian Republican Foundation for Scientific Research, a distinctive feature of which would be the composition of research groups: the presence of representatives of academic and university science (university and industrial science; academic and industrial science) in approximately the same ratio. It is concluded that it is advisable to create additional scientific funds, which will have a positive impact on the support of scientific research of young people. Scientific foundations are encouraged to carry out active information work to attract the most talented young scientists.
