Disruptive selection associated with selfing of the plants of Favorite variety resulted in 31 inbred lines with low level of acid value (AV) of the seed oil about 1 mg KOH/g. High level of AV up to 12 mg KOH/g occurred in infected seeds from individual heads that is why the lines with both high AV and healthy seeds were not developed. Heritability coefficient estimated as 10%. In germinating seeds with low AV (about 0.8) increasing of AV up to 1.5 mg KOH/g took place statistically significant, but not essential in total range of phenotypic variability. The obtained data supported hypothesis of prevalence of pathogen lipase in increasing of AV in sunflower seed oil.
