Specifics of digitalization of education at the present stage

The article discusses the features of the introduction of digital technologies in the educational process. The main stages of the development of education from the moment of the introduction of the first means of computing technology to the present period of mass digitalization of the educational process are considered. The authors address the leading tasks in the field of digitalization of education at the present stage and show ways to meet the challenges. We observe that the world is steadily striving for universal digitalization, and education is an integral part of this process as the most important component of the professional development of an individual. Therefore, the professional status of a teacher should grow accordingly to the requirements of modernity. Teacher must be a “digital teacher”, since he must not only possess various digital tools and resources, but also be able to apply digital tools to organize the educational process. Teacher needs to improve his “digital” skills and for that he needs a constant exchange of experience and knowledge with colleagues and specialists in related fields, including through social networks, as a means of rapid and multifunctional data exchange.
