The specifics of the modes of the phenomenon of chess culture in the dynamics of civilization development

The article analyzes the chess game, considered as a cultural phenomenon. The research uses axiological, cultural and comparative historical approaches. The author analyzes chess as a model of war, explores the problems of chess elitism, its intellectual, moral and aesthetic value, analyzes the phenomenon of chess entertainment, its cultural and pedagogical impact and signi cance as a cultural leisure format. The opinions of researchers on this issue are contextually clari ed, including the de nition of modes that demonstrate the cultural value of the chess game. The question of the philosophical value of chess and the periodization of its formation is revealed. For the rst time, chess is considered as a dialogue of cultures and a representation of the processes of globalization. Attention is focused on the fact that chess throughout its history has re ected the dynamics of the development of society, including in the cultural sphere.
