Peculiarities of teaching the discipline “Functional word formation” within the framework of supplementary vocational education

e article sums up peculiarities of teaching functional word formation to future teachers of Russian as a foreign language undergoing professional retraining in the Institute of Russian language and Culture of Lomonosov Moscow State University. Research rationale is explained by the necessity to elaborate educational materials for corresponding disciplines within the framework of supplementary vocational education programmes as well as to specify didactic, methodological and psychological principles which should be taken into account while teaching the target audience mentioned above. Th e aim of this article is to present specifi c features of teaching this course. Th e concrete goals include describing the course structure and defi ning peculiarities of organizing interaction with the audience. In order to reach these goals, we used theoretical methods (analysis, synthesis, generalization) and empirical ones (in particular, statistics and observation). Th e study is novel in that it defi nes specifi c features of teaching the adults linguodidactic discipline “Functional word formation” and characterizes aspects of its presentation based on the elaborated structure of the course. Practical signifi cance of the study consists in formulating methodological recommendations relevant for organizing the course within professional retraining programme.
