Specifics of translation of diplomatic documents (based on written messages of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation)

The article concerns the specifics of translation of diplomatic documents. Main types of diplomatic documents and their functions are described. Linguistic specifics are revealed, such as the usage of cliches, terms, etc. An analysis of distinctive features of these texts is given. Certain translations shifts used for translation of written messages of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation are described.
