The specific features of the Russian students’ preferences in respect of environmental information sources (based on the materials of the Republic of Tatarstan)

In the context of the aggravation of environmental problems in Russia, it is becoming more relevant to appeal to the phenomenon of public ecological consciousness which structures the environmental practices of people and, consequently, has an impact on the environment. The issues of priority concern include the ecological consciousness of Russian youth that is directly related to the future ecological situation in Russia, and it is formed when getting information on the environment from different sources of environmental information. This article presents the results of a sociological survey conducted in May 2017 among students of the Republic of Tatarstan while using quantitative and qualitative survey methods. The research reveals the main sources of environmental information for Tatarstan students which have the greatest potential impact on the process of forming their ecological consciousness.
