Specificity of trans-border tourism clusters in a post-conflict region

The article is devoted to the problem of the tourism development in a post-conflict region as the factor of strengthening peaceful interethnic relations and regional integration. Based on the declarations of international organizations, this article examines the impact of conflicts on tourism in the Eastern Mediterranean. The main advantages and relevance of interregional and trans-border tourism have been revealed. The levels of trans-border partnerships in tourism have been singled out. The need to apply the cluster approach as a method of strategic planning, to form interregional/cross-border tourist groups with the aim of re-imaging the post-conflict region and to improve the quality of life of the population has been identified and justified. The strategic view, offered in the article, is topical for the Arabian Peninsula and the Arab Maghreb as well, as it analyzes possibilities of integration and unification of the whole Arab region.
