Methods of translation of non-equivalent vocabulary in Mo Yan's works "Garlic ballads of paradise district"

The article discusses examples of translation of the equivalent-free vocabulary of Mo Yan's work "Garlic Ballads of Paradise County" from Chinese into Russian. The article explains the term "non-equivalent vocabulary", identifies two main types of non-equivalent vocabulary in the story: realities and chengyu. During the analysis of the translation of non-equivalent vocabulary, the main ways of its translation are highlighted - calculus, note or comment and description.
