Verbalization of the research categories in English and Russian academic discourses: summary of the results

The paper presents the summary of the results of a descriptive and comparative analysis of research categories and their verbal representation in English and Russian academic discourse. The analysis is based on the texts of the research articles from the leading British and Russian medical journals. The results have revealed both similarities and differences between the national discourses. While the similarities are considered to prove universal typological properties of academic discourse, the differences demonstrate the national identity of English and Russian academic discourse. The article concludes that there are standard ways of research categories verbal representation - explicit and implicit.
