The article analyzes data provided by HeadHunter and regarding demand and supply in the labor market of the Russian Federation and the Ural Federal District in the Human Resource Management segment. The goal of the study is to determine the possibilities and prospects of using such information to synchronize demand and supply of educational institutions’ graduates in the labor market due to the fact that their current desynchronization minimizes the effectiveness of the system of vocational and higher education. Analysis showed that the labor market sector under study is subject to minor changes from a business point of view due to its conservative nature, while applicants demonstrate significant volatility of their ideas about promising areas of professional activity. As it was concluded by the example of a specific sector of the local labor market based on the obtained results, the existing imbalances require enhancement of interaction between educational organizations and market enterprises as well as revitalization of state authorities in terms of regulating these imbalances. The authors believe that educational institutions essentially have an infrastructural role in the labor market and should use information from other market elements to develop an educational strategy that leads to an increase in the efficiency of market relations.
