Comparison of the economic indicators of the Republic of Buryatia and regions with socio-economic underdevelopment

The study compares the economic indicators of the Republic of Buryatia with similar indicators of regions recognized as subjects of the Russian Federation with socioeconomic underdevelopment. The following were used as the main indicators of development: the number of permanent population, indicators of the population structure, GRP per capita, unemployment rate, the share of population with monetary incomes below the regional subsistence level in the total population, investments in fixed assets (without budget investments), indicators of population migration. The study period was five years from 2016 to 2020. The analysis showed that the values of the economic indicators of the Republic of Buryatia are between the minimum and maximum, and this is specific for the group of regions with underdevelopment. So, the Republic of Buryatia can be included in this group of regions.
