Comparison of big cities with regions of their location

The article is devoted to comparison of the main cities population larger than 650 thousand people indicators with the region indicators of the city location. For nineteen major cities of the Russian Federation, the rates of migration growth, the share of the population living in the cities from the total population of the region, the average level of wages and pensions, the health status, the level of crime in 2005, 2010 and 2015 are considered. The difference in the average values of wages and designated pensions, the difference in the level of availability of doctors and health facilities, the difference in the level of crime in major cities and regions of their location are analyzed. The main factors of attractiveness of cities are revealed in comparison with the regions of their location. Also for the nineteen major cities of the Russian Federation, the indicators and their values are compared in 2005, 2010 and 2015. Revealed an average value exceeding the value of wages and pensions in the cities compared with the region of their location, as well as other indicators - the average excess of the number of physicians of all specialties per 10,000 population, the average excess of the number of hospital beds per 10,000 inhabitants and the average excess the number of registered crimes per 100,000 people. Also coefficient of migration growth of the cities with regions of their location and the magnitude of this excess for large cities as compared to the arrangement region are compared. Differences in the values of the investigated indicators for large cities in comparison with their regions of location will be an advantage for the migration of the population to the cities. Along with other factors, migration, the ability to obtain a higher income, the presence of a well-developed infrastructure, a higher level of health care will be the city of choice for the causes of migration. Higher crime rates in the cities compared to their location of the region will be a disincentive to migrate, but not the most important, as the choice of location for the potential of migration is influenced by many factors and the importance of each is evaluated individually.
