The article presents the results of an open randomized clinical study which examined the effect of highly selective β-blocker nebivolol and selective β-blocker metoprolol on left ventricular remodeling in the early postinfarction period in comparative aspect. It was shown that nebivolol increased the early expansion and rounding of LV. At the same time contractile function did not significantly decreased, and left ventricular pump function increased. Metoprolol restrained dilation and rounding of LV during the first week of illness. At the same time left ventricular contractile function significantly decreased compared to the initial (stroke volume index increased by 22.4%), but left ventricular pump function in this case did not change significantly.
