The aim of the study was to evaluate the changes in the quality of life of patients who underwent varicose vein surgery in combination with extravasal femoral vein valve correction. The results of surgical treatment were analyzed in two groups of patients with hemodynamically significant deep venous reflux depending on the method of treatment. Phlebectomy was combined with the femoral vein valve correction using either the Vedensky spirals (first group) or shape memory alloy devices (second group). The quality of life was estimated using CIVIQ [9]. Comparison of the results showed that the extravasal femoral vein valve correction significantly improved the quality of life of patients in both groups. However, application of the shape memory alloy devices resulted in more effective elimination of chronic venous insufficiency.
