The main content of the study is a comparative analysis of the learning process at the Paris Conservatory and Russian conservatories in the field of training instrumentalists-performers. As a result of the application of the general theoretical method of research, with the involvement of factual data, the fundamental principles of the functioning of both systems are revealed. It is a praxeological approach to improving curricula in France, as well as maintaining orientation to fundamental traditional education in Russia. The causal relationship of the formation of sys-tem-structural components of the educational process is indicated. The comparison of the learning process at all levels of higher education gives us a conceptual idea of the functioning of each of the studied models. The description of the distinctive features of training on the path of formation of a professional musician encourages the interpenetration of methods and methods of improvement tested in each university. The purpose of the study is to make practical use of the achievements in the field of education of representatives of these two systems
