Color, as one of the most universal elements in life, has long been deeply embedded in many aspects of culture. China and Russia have formed their own aesthetic taste for colors based on their religion, customs, history, and other factors, and so brilliant color cultures are gradually emerging in both countries. Phraseology is the salt of the language, which is considered the fruit of the people's mind. This language unit is widely used in various communication situations. The purpose of this article is to analyze and compare the connotative meanings of red in Chinese and Russian phraseological units with the component "red".
