Comparative analysis of law and medical students’ attitudes towards legalization of euthanasia

The article presents the results of the study of law and medical students’ attitudes towards legalization of euthanasia in Moscow. Focussing on students is due to the fact that they are the youngest progressive stratum of society, representatives of the new generation. Faculty selection is dictated by the hypothesis that the context of educational programs and practices imprints on attitudes towards the problem of euthanasia. The study of law and medical students’ opinions helps to comprehend how the young generation and future specialists treat the problem, how they assess the legal and moral aspects of euthanasia legalization and what arguments they give supporting their point of view. Therefore, the results of the study can be beneficial for public dialog on this topic. The aim of the study implied identifying the factors that determine their opinion, considering the dual argumentation about euthanasia in the Russian Federation based on the results of the study.
