Проведен обзор литературы, посвященной различным способам лечения пострадавших с множественными и флотирующими переломами ребер. Историческое развитие методов стабилизации шло по пути от методов внешней тракции и первых шагов по фиксации ребер к широкому применению внутренней пневматической стабилизации. В настоящее время эволюция способов фиксации находится на этапе применения специальных анатомических реберных пластин. Сравнительный анализ различных методов лечения еще раз продемонстрировал, что хоть многие из них и имеют свою доказанную эффективность, решение проблемы заключено в персонифицированном подходе с учетом характера, вида и тяжести травмы грудной клетки.
