Comparative analysis of semantic structures development of two groups of relative adjectives

Бесплатный доступ

In the article, two groups of relative non-constitutive adjectives of the English language are considered: argument-predicate and substance-indicative. The processes of development of semantic structures, models and directions of semantic changes are analyzed. The differences in the semantics of two subclasses are revealed, that lie in following the substantive or predicate models of semantic derivation.
