This paper presents the results of an interim study aimed at analyzing family values among Russian and Chinese students, with a particular focus on their impact on social stability in the context of globalization. The study involved 641 students (278 Chinese and 363 Russian) from the Pacific State University. The methodological framework was based on a questionnaire survey using bilingual research instruments that included an assessment of 12 family values. The results revealed significant differences in value orientations: for Russian students, the emotional component (care, support, psychological comfort) was prioritized, while Chinese respondents emphasized financial stability and traditional values (respect for elders, honesty). It was found that both groups highly valued basic emotional components of family relationships (love, affection), indicating the presence of universal values. The study also revealed differences in the structure of value distribution: the Russian sample demonstrated a clearer hierarchy of priorities, while the Chinese sample was characterized by a more uniform distribution of value significance. The findings can be used to develop programs for intercultural interaction and strengthen family institutions in the context of globalization.
