A middle-early shade tolerant soybean cultivar Vilana Beta

Бесплатный доступ

The middle-early soybean variety Vilana beta was bred from a recombinant plant with an increased proportion of chlorophyll ß isolated in the analysis of the absorption spectra of chlorophylls from plants of the cultivar Vilana. The chlorophylls of the cultivar Vilana beta additionally absorb some extra wavelengths of blue, orange-red, and, partially, green light spectrum that penetrate to the lower shaded layers of plants, which usual soybean cultivars do not used. This makes it possible to increase the intensity of shadow photosynthesis and the productivity of the lower shaded layers of soybean plants. According to the results of the varietal trials of 2018-2019, by yield the cultivar Vilana beta exceeded the standard cultivar Vilana by 0.20 ton per ha. The new cultivar is highly resistant to excessive plant population and shading by weeds. With increased plant population of 500-700 thousand per ha, the yield of the cultivar Vilana beta exceeds the standard cultivar Vilana by 0...
